On the other hand, if your character (based on the theme) is clearly identifiable as the main character, it’s then ok if you portray it next to a sidekick (or even if it crashes one of his minions under his foot). A model sheet entry obviously makes a great submission for the CDChallenge, but by no means is the only choice you have, nor does submitting a model sheet entry make your design stand out from the rest, by default. Our sixty-fifth Character Design Challenge started on the 7th of May 2020, the deadline was the 2nd of June 2020.
You can’t go wrong with any of them; they all have good character customization, for sure. It relies on the tried and true method of “alter preset faces and bodies with sliders,” and while Aion might not have as many sliders as other games, it has more preset options than you can shake a stick of +5 at. The character creator isn’t too shabby either; it covers the basics of hairstyles and colors, along with some nice sliders for body type options, along with a ton of facial expressions for your avatar. They probably won’t be a raging alcoholic like Dot Pyxis, but hopefully they’ll command just as much respect.
For organizational purposes, we will only reply to you if the request is considered acceptable. It’s important to remember though, that even a ‘‘Perfect Entry’’ must meet the Standard of Draftsmanship of our community to be approved (see the paragraph below). Please refrain from using AI art generators in any step of the creation process for your work, including non-character-related elements, such as the background.

All the entries for the CDChallenge follow the same rules but are created by artists with very different styles and from very different backgrounds and industries. A mangaka will create a design that looks radically dissimilar from a 2D animator or from a children's book illustrator.
